The DU LIS Mentorship Project facilitates professional relationships
between University of Denver LIS students and information professionals.
Mentors and mentees share information, inspiration, professional
development, and have a bit of fun in the process! Mentors and mentees spend a minimum of three hours per month interacting over blogging, email, telephone, and or social meetups. The project aims to enable mentors and mentees to find one another based on common interests and personal preferences. Mentors may identify students to be their mentees and students may reach out to mentors based on common interests. This blog is one platform for making such connections.
Use the tabs at the top of this home page to post your profile on the page that best suits your role in the mentorship program. Similarly, find your partner in the reciprocal role by browsing the posts on the other pages. Please note that there is also a section for second and third year mentors. If you are a first year student - or even if you have been around some and you want advice on the program, please feel free to seek advice on this page - even if you have a professional mentor.
Mentors, once you have found your mentee, it is ok to turn down other requests as we do not wish to overburden anyone. However, it is the intention of the mentorship program that keeping an active blog many can learn from the wisdom you share with your mentee! Of course, you are welcome to comment on various posts.
Happy networking everyone!
